Pee Your Pants for the Brewers?

This is the latest story coming from the Internet.  A web site has popped up at peeyourpantsforthebrewers.com

That right, you are reading it correctly.  This is what the web master states on his site "When the Brewers make the playoffs I will pee my pants."

That’s right, if the Brewers make the playoffs, this fan will proceed to pee his pants.  He has opened this up to other people so that they can also sign a online pledge to do the same.  The bigger thing is this has got attention in national media as well.  As of Saturday, the site claims that 2,100 people are dedicated to pee their pants as well.

I thought about it and though against it.  But after further thought I realized that if the Brewers do make the playoffs this year, I would probably get so excited and pee my pants anyways.  I should get around to signing up anyway.  I suppose I could sign up my 3-month old daughter, she pees every hour or so anyway.

"Of course I peed my pants, everyone my age pees their pants. It’s the coolest!"  Adam Sandler as Billy Madison in Billy Madison.

Transplanted Fan: Mets Fan in Texas

I submitted some questions to a few transplanted fans like myself and got back a questionnaire.  Thank you to Paul at Mets Fan in Texas.

1.) Where are you from?  Where have you lived?  I am from New Jersey originally, lived in Colorado for 7 years, Dallas for 2.5 years, and I’m moving back to Colorado next month.

Have you ever lived in the same area as the team you have followed?  Yup, as I mentioned above.  Spent the first 25 years of my life in Jersey

How often do you run into fans of your team where you live?  Is this pretty common or is it something that is rare?  It’s very rare.  I meet more Yankee fans.

If you live by another MLB team do you often go to games?  Do you adopt your area team as your own team except when they are playing your team?  I do occasionally.  I casually pull for the local team, but I never really get into them.

Have you ever switched teams because you have moved or did you switch allegiance for a different reason?  Nope.  I bleed orange and blue.

Do you get to games of your team at home veryoften?  Do you get a chance to see them play on the road?  I just went to Shea Stadium this weekend for the first time in 7 or 8 years or so.  They don’t play the Rangers, so I haven’t seen them on the road since I was in Colorado, when I went to see them play the Rockies every year.

What are some things that would help you get closer to your team where you are located?  A perfect career opportunity.  Thought I had one recently, but it fell through.

Transplanted Fan: Mile High Yankees

I submitted some questions to a few transplanted fans like myself and got back a questionnaire.  Thank you to Jacob from Mile High Yankees.

Where are you from?  Where have you lived?  I grew up in Western New York. I have also lived in central Pennsylvania
and currently live near Denver, CO.

Have you ever lived in the same area as the team you have followed?  I have never lived closer than a 5 1/2 hour drive from New York City.

How often do you run into fans of your team where you live?  Is this pretty common or is it something that is rare?  I encounter people with Yankee hats a lot. But I’m not sure if I am actually encountering fans or trendy people. I guess if they were trendy they’d have Red Sox hats on. I rarely interact with random people in Yankee hats mostly because I’m never sure whether or not they’re actually fans. Usually jerseys worn with hats are a more sure sign of fandom. I see those rarely.

If you live by another MLB team do you often go to games?  Do you adopt your area team as your own team except when they are playing your team?  I attend Rockies games whenever I can. Usually about once or twice a
month. I do not adopt them as my own, although I do follow them rather
closely. I feel that this is OK since they’re an NL team.

Have you ever switched teams because you have moved or did you switch
allegiance for a different reason?
I have never switched teams, not even once. Now celebrating 21 years as a
Yankee fan.

Do you get to games of your team at home very often?  Do you get a chance to see them play on the road?  I have never seen the Yankees play on the road. When I lived closer I went to one game per year at The Stadium.

What are some things that would help you get closer to your team where you are located?  Get closer to the Yankees from Denver? They could switch leagues and move to the west coast. Then they’d be in Denver a lot. But that won’t happen,
nor would I want it to. I would like it more if there were more fans around
that I could actually talk baseball with. I guess that’s why I joined
MLBlogs.

Transplanted Fan: Reverend Redbird

I submitted some questions to a few transplanted fans like myself and got back a questionnaire.  Thank you to Erik at Reverend Redbird.

Where are you from?  Where have you lived? I’m from the St. Louis area. In the last 10 years I’ve lived in Tulsa, OK and Cedar Rapids, IA

Have you ever lived in the same area as the team you have followed?

(Already sorta answered that) I grew up in St. Louis, lived there until I went to college

How often do you run into fans of your team where you live?  Is this pretty common or is it something that is rare?

It’s not uncommon in Iowa to run into a Cardinal fan, but I’d say for every Cardinal fan there’s about 30 Cub fans.

Have you ever switched teams because you have moved or did you switch allegiance for a different reason?

No

Do you get to games of your team at home very often?  Do you get a chance to see them play on the road?

St. Louis is only a 4 hour drive, so I have been out to Busch since I’ve lived here. I haven’t seen the new park yet, but I plan to this summer. Wrigley is pretty close, so I’m sure one day I’ll make it out there. Same for Milwaukee.

What are some things that would help you get closer to your team where you are located? We have a radio affiliate here in Cedar Rapids, but their signal can fade at times at night, forcing me to buy an XM radio. Luckily, their weekend games that are broadcasted come on the WB. I don’t get the Cardinals on cable. Blogging and other fan driven message boards are a great way to stay connected as well.

Transplanted Fans

I am a transplanted fan.  At the moment a pretty minor one.  I live in Minnesota and follow the Brewers.  Needless to say 90% of the baseball focus is on the Twins.  I still run into Brewers fans time to time and take in an inter league series in the Metrodome (this year it is June 30-July 2).

With my family being relocated to Houston by September I will be in a different dynamic.  The beauty of this is that I now live by a team that is in the NL Central.  I would have the option to take in more Brewers games a year.  I am already liking Minute Maid Park to the Metrodome.

I will be seeking feedback from other MLB fans across the country who are also transplanted fans.  How do you deal with this dynamic?  Do you have a hard time following your team?  Do you ever go to games that don’t have your team playing in them?

I have put a list of other MLBlogs on my site of other transplanted fans.  I have emailed a few this following questionnaire to get information on a follow up post.  If I have missed anyone it has not been intentional.

Even though the Astros are in the same division but I could see myself cheering them on except when they are playing the Brewers or in a tight wild card/divisional race with the Brewers.

Keg-Heads?

Maybe this has been around longer than I know of but with the popularity of cheeseheads some Wisconsinites are collaborating another theme.

I think that an appropriate nickname for Miller Park is "The Keg" due to its relationship with Miller Brewing and the proud history of Milwaukee and, they are called the "Brewers" you many recall.

This doesn’t make Cubs fans look any better

What happens when when you get some Cubs fans drunk and they are trying to entertain themselves near a urinal trough full of urine? This video below.

Update: There is some debate in the blogshere if this is a Cub or a Cards fan.  The source I found was a Cub’s fan so that is what I went with.  Plus it is always fun teasing our most intense rivals.
